A Neighborhood Shaped by Community.
Midtown Village is home to the heart of Philadelphia’s Gayborhood, which has served as a center of LGBTQ+ life and culture since the 1950s. Over time, the area became known for its community institutions, nightlife, activism, restaurants, and gathering places. In 2007, rainbow street signs were formally dedicated throughout the neighborhood, creating one of its most recognizable symbols.
