Culture starts at your front door.

Logan Square puts some of Philadelphia’s biggest cultural destinations, green spaces, and architectural landmarks within an easy walk. Centered around the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, the neighborhood blends museums, high-rises, historic homes, parks, restaurants, and tree-lined residential streets in one of Center City’s most distinctive settings.

WHY PEOPLE LOVE IT

Arts & Culture

The Benjamin Franklin Parkway gives Logan Square its unmistakable character. The Barnes Foundation, Franklin Institute, Academy of Natural Sciences, Rodin Museum, Calder Gardens, and Philadelphia Museum of Art create a museum corridor unlike anywhere else in the city.

Parks & Green Space

Logan Circle, Sister Cities Park, Matthias Baldwin Park, and nearby Schuylkill Banks give the neighborhood plenty of room to get outside.

Whether you’re walking the Parkway, relaxing near the fountains, or heading toward the river, green space is always close by.

From William Penn's Original Plan to Philadelphia's Museum Mile.

Logan Square began as Northwest Square, one of the five public squares envisioned in William Penn's original 1682 plan for Philadelphia. In 1825, it was renamed in honor of James Logan, a prominent statesman and longtime associate of William Penn. More than a century later, the neighborhood was transformed by the creation of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, connecting Logan Square to some of Philadelphia's most celebrated museums, institutions, and public spaces. Today, the historic square and Logan Circle sit at the center of one of the city's most iconic cultural districts.

Urban Farmer Philadelphia

Go for the steakhouse experience, but don’t overlook the sides and starters. The cornbread gets frequent praise, and the setting makes this a particularly good choice for brunch, dinner before a Parkway event, or a meal after spending the day at the nearby museums.
