Spend some time by the water at Spruce Street Harbor Park, Penn’s Landing, Cherry Street Pier, Race Street Pier, or the RiverRink. With river views, food, drinks, seasonal activities, and plenty of places to relax, the waterfront is an easy spot to meet friends or unwind.
Where the Nation Took Shape.
Independence Hall began as the Pennsylvania State House, with construction starting in 1732. The Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution were both debated and signed there. Philadelphia later served as the temporary U.S. capital from 1790 to 1800, and nearby Old City Hall housed the U.S. Supreme Court during much of that period.

Old City has a very easy film connection. National Treasure used Philadelphia locations including the Independence Hall area, and the famous chase through Old Pine Street Presbyterian Church cemetery was actually filmed nearby. More recently, the 2026 Hallmark movie To Philly With Love received permission to film at Independence National Historical Park and also features
Elfreth’s Alley.
